Working with Multiple Agencies

Is it possible to write business through multiple independent agencies?

I have a client (1st client) in the construction industry so I found an agency that writes a lot of business in the construction industry, made a deal with the owner to write my client through his agency and we're going to split commission 50/50.

Now I have a prospect in the manufacturing industry and I know that the agency I'm working with does not write many manufacturers so I'd like to find another agency and do the same as above.

Can you have sub codes at different independent agencies?

I'm new to the industry so I don't mind splitting the commission for the experience. Is there anything wrong with my plan?

What do you guys think?

Why don't you just get a couple more contracts in the office so you can write the policies yourself and get full commission instead of sending people else where?

I want to do this for a year so I can learn as much as I can.

Can I have a code in two different agencies?

we work with several agencies. we do the work they get half the commission.

Obviously we try to limit having to do it but when it makes sense we do it.

No problem with working with more than one. It's like working with more than one Carrier.
