15 Carriers Exit Medicare Advantage Markets

I found the 2025 KFF spotlight, pretty interesting stuff here

Florida got less plans for 2025, but Georgia got more

How is reporting on the number of carriers exiting MAP plans scare tactics? It's just reporting on reality.

Also based on what I have read more carriers are existing MAP markets than entering them, even though the number of people with MAP plans is increasing every year. This implies the market is consolidating which isn't always a good thing with respect to keeping overall prices (eg premium, MOOP, etc.) down (supply/demand issues).
I'm joking.

Wonder what map would look like if it excluded non commish mapd plans?
Thats a fair question, so I looked at Florida. The best estimate I could make is, at worst, it would be a 10% difference.

Which means the consumer (if working with a broker) would still have more choices than they had in 2020 in most counties. And would have much more choices than they had 10 years ago in every single county in Florida.

I don't know if that is true in every state across the country. I don't care about other states. Only Florida.
