1yr Heart Att. and Insulin

I have a client who had a heart attack over a year ago due to being severely dehydrated from his meds. He is also a diabetic on insulin. 50 units total a day. He is 61 and was diagnosed after age 50 with diabetes. Non-Tobacco. Looking for 20K. I can't seem to find anything better than a graded policy for this case.

I believe just about everyone is gonna be graded if the heart attack was within the last 2 yrs.

RNA asks for 3 yrs out on heart attacks for day 1 coverage.

Vantis GIWL - $20k - premium for a 61 yo male is $108.43 per month. PM if you want to look into their program.

How is Gleaner life or Washington National for this case? Via CSG Actuarial, they do not have heart attack or insulin on their apps. I do not have them, but if they could do immediate on this case I would love to have at least one of them.

If I'm thinking of the right product you're referring to, I believe they don't ask about it on the app because they have a large number of tables built into the rates for the products. When a carrier builds 12 or 16 tables into a product, the premiums can just become so substantially high that the client will get turned off by it immediately even if it can offer day 1 coverage. You should get the rates for both products and compare them to the Vantis GIWL I mentioned earlier. While the Vantis product may feature a graded benefit, the rates are very competitive and may offer a more favorable option to meet your client's needs, given his medical history. Hope that helps. Send me a PM if you want to take a look at a copy of the GI product brochure.

I'll take him based on your info here. $20,000 is $112.62 and if your client is in Virginia the rate will be about 10% less. It's a graded plan, so it's ROP plus 10% for 2 years. PM me for more info or call me at 501-470-6868.

What carrier is this? Is it true guaranteed issue or do they ask any health questions? How are the questions stated?

I'm really just trying to check on some options. Im looking for info on my question on Gleaner and Washington National at this point. Thanks for the info on Vantis.

Security National Life. It is not GI. We have a preferred & standard class that are level 1st day coverage and we have a graded plan all on one app. Yes, we ask your typical FE health questions. We do cover a few items that most others don't on our graded plan like dialysis, dementia, and oxygen users. Our graded rates are very good with commissions better than GI plans. Virginia and a few other states' graded premiums are even 10% less.

How is the question stated on the app regarding heart issues? (almost all FE apps that ask about any health history will ask about any heart attack or heart surgery within the last 2 yrs, or if there is any outstanding tests that still need to be completed - in the case of heart attack patients, they may still need to have stress tests completed)
