2 Questions About Forum "rules" and Sales

I agree with Rearden. The best measurement is activity in your first Year in the business.

You need to have 12-15 SITS a week minimum as a full timer. Your success will get better as you gain experience. 30-40% Close ratio on SITS is great in your first year. The AP follows. Work on your skills and that will increase your Close Ratio.

Skills are Measured on your ability to LISTEN, BUILD TRUST and CLOSE the Deal when they give you buying signals.

Good Selling!!!

activity is good but it doesn't pay the bills. written policies pays the bills.

last week I had 7 appointments between Tuesday and Wed. I got stood up once and wrote 5 out of the remaining 6.

In fact on Tues I was only able to schedule one appointment and I didn't think it was going to be much because the lady and her daughter stood me up the week before. I even tried to confirm the appointment twice on Monday, which I rarely ever do. In this case I just didnt feel like driving 35 miles one way to get stood up again.

It was scheduled for 10am but I didnt go because she didnt answer my messages on Monday. The caughter called me at home onTuesday at about 10:30 wanting to know where I was. I told her because she didnt confirm I was working from my office.

I told her I could be there at 1:30 and she said that would work.

I wrote her 78 year old mother a $12,500 policy at $183 per month. The next day I wrote 4 out of 5. I prefer to have solid qualified appointments if at all possible.

I did not realize you had less the a year of experience in the business....

My comments were for a Newby. Seasoned Vets adjust their activity based on your strengths. To ask a newby to follow a regiment of a Seasoned Agent before selling and closing skills have developed is a formula for complete failure of the Newby.

A Newby needs to practice the sales process and develop habits to have success and they will not get there unless they have a work ethic and the skills necessary to succeed. Activity and more of it, will get the Newby developed quicker.

I think she sold CC Processing for 5 years so I would think she's more advanced than a newby "sales wise". That's some brutal prospecting right there and to do it that long, she must have developed some good closing skills and activity habits.

The origional post asked the question what do you consider a good week and what do you consider a bad week. It said nothing about being a newby or not, your the one who brought that up.

But while were on the subject you might consider this. 95 out of a hundred newbys will go broke in this business because they can't sell. Its much cheaper to find that out by going to the local used car lot.

If you need to hone your sales skills and develop a good work ethic, at 25 dollars a pop this ain't the place.

Omg! Thank you for understanding. Actually, I prospected, cold called every deal my first year while developing referrals and a network of other professionals
Where we referred business. But, the burnout level was brutal, most agents never made it past a few days... But, I am one of those
Freaks of nature who actually like to prospect and cold call. Until I burned myself out and became disillusioned with that industry.
This is one reason why I really , really appreciate having warm leads. I am a freaking lay down for leads, lol!!!
Now, if i would get out and knock some doors more ...
