Hello everyone,

I was wondering if offering a $20 gas card for new clients would be considered rebating in Florida.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Any offer that is presented contingent upon them buying coverage could be considered a rebate or an inducement.

What if i worded it with purchase roadside assistance with your policy and receive the gas card?

As the roadside I offer is through NSD and is seperate from the actual policy.

Rebating is NOT illegal in Florida.

So in your opinion Moonlight I would be okay offering this?

Rebating is not illegal in FL, however it is supposed to be universal to everyone and publicly displayed. I am not sure about getting an approval from your company, but it may be something to look into before you go through a major marketing campaign.

I am considering including it in my DM campaign for next month, lady needs to know by end of today, because they go to print next week. Do I need to run it through all my companies?

I would not hesitate to make sure its ok to do this by sending an email to Florida Department of financial Services.
insurance professionals

I did but they said it would take around 3 weeks for a decision!!!

They would have been my first call. If the person is asking on here, obviously there is an attempt to follow the law. Might as well just go to the source and ask.

Absolutely Volagent, don't want to get myself in trouble.
