I decided to ruin a perfectly wonderful Sunday and take one of the recertification classes online. I was going through the United Health Care/AARP training. I went through the first module and then went to take the test. I got to question 9 and it wouldn't let me go any further. I exited and tried to retake again, I got to question 9 and it stopped again. I don't dare take it a 3rd time because then you can't sell for them in 2009....anyone else having this problem?

When I tried to take it about a month ago I had terrible problems with it just as you are describing. I had to call the help desk and they walked me through a "fix". The guy said it was only helping about half the ones having problems. I was in the half that it didn't fix. They told me it was my server's problem and to contact them.

I took the tests about a week later and everything worked just fine. I never did contact my server company. They are just having a lot of trouble with the on line test. Call the help desk, you may be in the half that they can fix over the phone.

Last year I completed and passed all the United Health Care test but it didn't register on their records, so I had to go back and retake all the tests again.

Thanks, I'll try that on Monday. I'm sure they're not opened today. I ended up taking my Blue Cross of MI certification. I got 95%. I got to see the new copays for 2009 and the premiums. It's not looking good. The inpatient hospitalization went from a $0 copay in 2008 to a $ 500 copay in 2009. My clients won't be too happy with that.

I wonder what the other MAPD plans are doing for 2009

Every plan I've seen so far has been gutted. Pyramid's Premier plan went from $195 for a hospital stay to $350 and the premiums increased about $20/mo across the board on their plans. Coventry's plans were gutted with premium increases in most areas. Wellcare's plans were severely cut and I haven't seen their premium breakdown. It's time for many of my Pyramid Premier clients to look at a med sup. I intend to let them know about that option.

does Coventry still have the $0 premium plan in the urban counties this year?

If it doesnt I may just market med supps because there are no restrictions on those plans

The 0 premium plans that i saw had a substantial increase in the inpatient hospitalization copay, you'll want to take a look at what the copays went up to, not just the $0 premium...not to preach or anything :)

This will be the last year for MA i believe with either candidate

I don't believe either candidate can turn this socialist ship around... not even NOBAMA. MAs are encoded into law. Congress won't eliminate them, but they may trim them down by limiting their funding. I fully expect to see the premiums go up and the benefits come down.

They still have the $0 premium in many counties, but, the benefits are reduced substantially. They just released their grid at the end of last week. It's quite a lengthy document. You need to get one and just look at the counties you are concerned about.

In the counties where it wasn't $0 and the premium was $19, I think that went to about $25 and the benefits were cut. I believe the benefits were cut even more in the areas where it remained $0. Most places where I have $0 premium Coventry, I have $0 premium Wellcare and they just blow Coventry away with superior benefits.
