I have a client, in Virginia, looking to buy a policy on her daughter. The daughter is 24 years old, ht/wt 4'11" and 95 pounds - was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. Takes Kappra, Klonopin, and Baclofen. No seizures in over 10 years.

I don't believe a carrier will be able to issue coverage for her under a fully underwritten or simplified issue program.

Wants at least $10k of coverage.

Does anyone know of any available GI policies available at her age? If so, can you tell me what carrier and what the rates will be?

Thanks very much for your help in advance!

I think United Heritage will go Graded (30/70/100) to $25,000, if not Colombian will do GI to $10,000

What are their graded period structures? ROP + any interest?

Are you contracted with both of them?

UH - 30% 0-12 months, 70% 13 -24 months, 24 months and a day 100%

CML _ I was wrong on them they start at age 25. However - ROP plus 6% Xs two years. 100% for accident.

Edit: Yes, yes I am.

Im glad I stumbled upon this one, got a referral for a daughter's who's son is that same age with CP. They bought globe recently so I want to show them some better options.

Thanks Lee!

btw Josh Blue is the BEST stand up comedian with CP, too funny, very brave.

If I am selling a parent that just want a funeral expense policy. I am going SI. If this was my child I try to find a larger, rated fully underwritten, short pay policy.

By the way another reason to sell child riders on parents policies. Had they had one they possibly could have converted up to 6 times face with no evidence of insurability. I am sure some of have converted some really ill children. I myself have converted a young man that had been in a coma for years, another was a sex change deal.
