Anyone ever heard of an agent not allowing his sales producers to cross sell existing customers?

Very hard to call cold aged leads that either don’t answer or is a bad number. Not much support in being successful.

Anyone ever heard of an agent not allowing his sales producers to cross sell existing customers?

Yes. I can think of a number of reasons. Recently I asked the support staff not to cross sell my clients as roughly 50% of my sales now are referrals from captive agents. Furthermore, when I was a young agent, I was pretty aggressive coming from an advertising sales background, and managed to rub some of the owner's client the wrong way when I was cross selling.

There are a number of other possible reasons.

Are you selling personal, commercial, or both?

He doesn't want to pay you for new business which he has not been able to capture and he is an ass. I hope he is paying you well to service those same clients because most of the agents I worked for did not set foot in their agency as often as they should have and therefore were not around when "Bobby" had an issue
