Acne Treatment - Health Carriers

Some carriers make it an auto decline if they are on Accutane. Don't have my underwriting guides on the laptop, but check to see who is even open to writing this person.

Humana says Standard-No rider with the $6,000 deductible AS plan...

I've had luck with ADHD with Humana; not sure if this will be the same type situation... typically Humana will cover their drugs and office visits (ADHD) and rate-up a bit for the meds..

There is at least one carrier that will reject the app if Accutane is used, or has been used, in the last 6 months or so. Can't recall which one but I did run across that before.

H1 lists Accutane as a level 4 Rx which makes it pricey under a copay plan (such as Monogram). Looks like it goes for around $400 at retail. Haven't been able to find a wholesale price yet.

Good chance Monogram would be a max rate up, or possibly a decline if the rate up is insufficient to cover the cost (to H1) of the med.

That leaves the HSA or a Plan 70.

H1 would have been my first choice. Let us know how it goes.
