advice on American national insurance looking to be an agent.....

I am looking to start my own agency with American National insurance and just seeing if anyone here is an agent for them and can tell me a little about being an agent for them? Give me the good, bad the ugly.

Also, when talking to a company what are things to ask? I am new to this starting my own agency.

Are you going to be captive to them? Most of us here on the forum are not captive and only use them when needed....which, (going out on a limb here), is not very often.
