Advice on Carriers in Ohio

Greetings from Ohio,

I have been a producer with Western Reserve Group in Ohio since 2015. My Father in Law asked me to write with him through his appointment with them. I have noticed Western Reserve Group to be wonderful with claims and my interactions with their staff. So A+ from that standpoint. I am just wanting to expand my business and could not place many suburban families with a couple claims in the last 5 years and perhaps a teen driver. (perhaps non preferred client) I am not sure because I consider myself to be fairly new because I had not always worked full time. Can anyone here recommend some other carriers with good commission rates for these other prospects? Also, I would like to offer pet insurance and life.

What MGA are you working with?

None..I looked into IPA AND SIAA but my father in law suggested I build my book up (which I did) and the apply for direct appts with other carriers.

Its going to be a lot easier when you are starting out to have an MGA that can assist you with some types of risks. There is a ton on information on this forum about which option is the best.

But there are potential solutions for some MGAs that might not pay you a lot of will give you some additional access to close more of the business.
