Aetna 2015 Commissions Released

Costco plans are slightly lower for identical or similar plans.

Might want to look closer.

Pre-2014 Costco was selling Aetna plans at a lower rate but higher OOP and only covered generic Rx.

I seriously doubt the Costco plan is identical in every way, but yes, only the agency that put the deal together can sell the Costco plan.

just got the ACA certification and rushing to dive into this OEP.

You probably need to find something else to do. When the water has been released from the dam is no time to learn how to paddle.

How hard/easy I'd to get appointed directly with health insurance companies? I'm in Miami-Dade county in Florida. New to the game, just got the ACA certification and rushing to dive into this OEP. Had been approached by a company telling me they can help me get appointed through them but I would have to assign my commission to them and they will pay me a flat fee.... They also offer bringing some walk in clients... Does it smell fishy? I have some resources to go Indi however is only a week away and I'm not sure I would have enough time to get appointed on my own. Pleaseeee help!! Any word of advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes it does. You want to be paid directly from the carrier not from the agency. If you get paid by the agency they own you!! I learn that lesson last year.....

K4000: I'm also in Miami, did you sign up with Agent Pipeline?
Did you find any others for FL.
Sunshine is the agency in Mall of the Americas that has 150 agents.
An agent of theirs tells me they did pay in February last year. $100 per
person.

FLM2: I always follow your posts as you are in Florida. I need to ask you,
I'm sorry, but I don't understand. If you get $100 per person in the agency how can you only get $25 to $50 a month direct with carrier.
Are they just funding the $100 from the Jan Feb premiums and just keeping
the rest + renewals?

Thanks

If you assign commissions to an agency and they pay you a fee upfront they are keeping the rest of the first year commission and likely all of the renewals.

Scum bag agencies like this prey on the unsuspecting newbie agent, they figure you will write some business, leave because you can't make a living, and then they keep everything.
