Aetna Dumps 12 Month Rate Lock

I think I told you folks these would be gone asap.... the first brick fell.... if you are still selling health insurance today and u think it is anything but a temporary policy you are high on crack

Oh wise TaterPeeler... now that you've established yourself as a genuine soothsayer, do you expect Health Insurance companies and/or agencies to stop advancing commissions this year? If so, at what time in 2013 will the announcements start flowing?

I don't take advances, but I am getting regular "updates" on commission schedules. If you are receiving advances you would be well advised to read those things.

Personally, I think 2013 is a dangerous time to sell health insurance on advances.

oh nice man from crime riddled city, advancing will end no later than December 2013, however those that still take health advances will not have the ability to sell in the exchanges due to the enormous debt balances owed to their uplines since they assigned commission and cant get out of the contract....

have you assigned commissions?

I agree..and the deeper we get into 2013, the greater the risk for policies written this year to not to be around long enough for agents to recoup their advances.

TaterPeeler, I don't think advancing will continue much past March. I'm only advanced from one company, but the newer agents focus on selling that company because of the advances. No.. I have not assigned commissions. Been there, done that, been burned. Never again.

Just wait until the last two months of 2013 then don't pay your premium. Since no preexisting in 2014, you could save two months premium.

My main carrier will give you two months to pay...

I received 2 (unhappy) calls today from Non-Grandfathered AETNA IFP clients regarding the letter referenced in this article:

REF: Aetna insurance company warns of higher health care costs - Washington Times

Did AETNA tell us, the agents, that this particular letter was going out to clients? I've received notification from AETNA of other, more mundane notices that were being mailed, but nothing about this zinger.
