I received an email from Aetna, they will be offering the modernized plans starting 6-1-10. They will not offer Plans N or M but they have filed for new rates in many states.

In Mi we now have AARP and United of Omaha that have released their rates. Aetna's on the way, hopefully there will some more very soon. I'd hate to contact over 200 clients and then something better comes out and have to contact them again. that could be quite time consuming

Of those 200 clients if any of them are on a good and competitive med supp plan, there's no need to contact them. Worry about any you placed with Medicare Advantage or within plans that may be taking larger than average rate increases. The rest are fine.

Doesn't make sense to me to chase your current clients rolling them into new plans. Let them come to you with questions and spend your time getting new clients.

I agree with you. I'm not contacting all of the one's in good shape with me. The few that I could help, I will contact. I just don't see anything with any company so far on these modernized plans, that is that great. I don't see much with these modernized plans to begin with unless it's an alternative to an MA plan(plan N).

Interesting that Aetna offers med-supps in Florida. I've never seen or talked with anyone that has one with them. Am I living under a rock?

Also, they applied for the modernized plans in Florida, which means they should be approved by Thanksgiving!

Yeah; hearing Aetna is rolling Med Supps was definitely news to me. I agree with your take on N. It's only good as an alternative to Med Advantage or something for folks who can't pass underwriting, at least in regards to the Mutual Plan N (guarantee issue). Other than Mutual, I've only seen Loyal American as another carrier offering N. Heard of anyone else so far? Anyone know if Loyal is also doing theirs as GI?
