Can they make it anymore difficult to do business with them? Be aware if an app isn't showing up in their user friendly Producer World. Mixed in with a TIN, you assured a screw up.

Effective November 11th, we changed the process for validating your license and appointment upon submission of an application for the Aetna Advantage Plans for Individuals, Families and the Self-Employed.
You must be appropriately licensed and appointed with Aetna and in each state where you sell Aetna insurance products. Validation of a brokers' license and appointment is required to confirm the broker has the appropriate credentials in each state.
The process
§ Validation will occur when you are quoting, submitting an online application or when a paper application is received.

§ The system will validate if you are licensed and appointed in the state where the applicant resides. For example, if a applicant lives in Texas, you must be licensed and appointed to sell Aetna Advantage Plans in Texas.

§ Validation is based on the TIN/SSN provided on the application. For brokers who submit applications under a firm TIN, the firm TIN must be licensed and appointed in the applicable state.
. What happens if…
§ If you are not licensed and appointed in the state for which you are submitting an online application, you will receive a pop-up message which will vary based on the scenario.

§ If you submit a paper application, but are not licensed and appointed in the applicable state, you will be removed from the application and will not receive commissions.

§ If a consumer submits an application using a personalized broker link that you provided them, the system will allow the consumer to submit the application. However, if you are not licensed and appointed in the state, you will be removed from the application and will not receive commissions.

If you fail to pass the validation process, you will be contacted by the Broker Support Unit.
Got questions?

Maybe they have had issues with agents who sell in several states, but they don't have the licensing on record that they are licensed to sell in that state. I just bet that is the issue, and it is probably their messup, not the agent. So if you sell Aetna across state lines you should probably make sure you have given them your non-res id, and if you are paid to your corp tax ID, they probably want proof of your foreign registration in that state as well. I can almost guarantee the fees associated with doing all of that are more than the 4% comp you make with them.
