American Income Life Debt

I recently left American Income Life and now am being hit a debt. Since our commissions are annualized, they are saying that I owe them money for the commissions not yet earned. My question is what is the best way to get this debt forgiven by the company. The debt is low, under $1000. Any suggestions? Anyone dealt with this before? I don't want to mess up my credit.
Could I just ignore it? I don't plan on working in insurance ever again in my life.

Yep, those darn chargebacks which amount to debt owed to the insurance company or Agency. Like someone said earlier, ask for a full report from accounting, and check or compare it with your records. You can always ask to reduce the debt, but usually if not paid the insurance company or Agency will send it to collections. Sometimes, you can negotiate with the collections company, but the debt will be reported to Vector, which will stop you from being contracted or appointed with Insurance Carriers.
