Had a guy call wanting new agents to market their FE plan using their lead program. 1000 leads for $300. 90% commission. Anybody here have any info on this company. The caller represented a group called Shoreline out of Florida.

They are a good company. Their rates are higher than most but they will accept some health conditions that others won't.
If they do the mailer you are limited to selling them only. You can get a better commission rate and do your own mailer would be the better option in my opinion.

What do they call a lead??

He didn't actually say lead he said $300 for each 1000 pcs. He said you could expect 1-3% return from the mailer. He also said you didn't have to use their lead source. I just thought the cost per lead wasn't bad though.

It is bad because you are giving up 25% of the 1st year commission and possibly renewals too.
You are only saving $100 on the mail drop.

Explain if you don't mind Newby.

Street level on the product is 115% first year. Assurant pays a higher street commission and high renewals because they have a little more premium to work with.

Mailings are $400 per 1,000 (search for Main Street Powermail on the forum)

Doing your own mailing allows you to be independent.

However, if your agency is giving you other things like training, office space or other thing you need to get going it MAY be best to do everything through them.

If you need help getting going I would look for info on Hoosier Daddy (Travis Tubbs) here and talk to him before you decide anything. He can give you a similar contract to what you are looking at and EXCELLENT training plus very competitive companies.

Exactly. If they are bringing something else of value then that makes sense, but if not then they're just trying to make a buck (and good for them). Most agencies will take a bigger piece of the action if they're providing training, so if they are going to give you training then that should be a fair deal. If you try it out and decide you don't like it you can always get appointed with other carriers and do it indy style. There are plenty of other FE carriers you can work with.

Thanks for all of the imput! I do believe he said something about training which that is no big deal to me even though I am always open for advice.
