Americo & Monu in 2013

I have a few questions for the other agents here....

In Calif., Americo has a new disclosure for any clients 65+ that basically says to the client "I certify that I received this notice 24hrs before this appt" or something close to that (I dont have it in front of me) & they must sign it....whereas the previous notice wasnt nearly that specific. So now theres no way of getting around it, and Im sure Calif isnt the only state that does this! So how are u guys handling this, if this applies to you? In my case, I wont be using Americo for anyone over 65 anymore, so Monu will probably become my new #2 carrier behind RNA....thoughts?

Also, has anyone ever noticed that Monumental doesnt ask if the client is HIV+, just have they ever been diagnosed with AIDS or ARC? Has anyone ever used Monu for someone with HIV? I recently came across someone who was HIV+ but didnt need to take any meds...weird!

Thanks

That is a state law you are dealing with. Not something from the companies. I don't have to that in Ky, In or Tn.

Yeah, I know...but the other companies notice isnt nearly that specific & u can get around it! This new notice would scare the client unless they actually did sign it 1 day before the actual appt! Its gotta be some other states like this too....worst case scenario, Americo wont be used much!

Nope, just your state. I did read somewhere that those notices didn't apply to small face policies for burila. But I can't say where I read that.

I would think funeral director would know the answer I believe he is in California and door knocks so that law would be on his mind....

I love the mind of regulators they think nothing of the cost in time and money essentially creating a 2 appointment minimum on the sale of insurance.... I would love them to do that with I don't know say cell phone contracts where you don't already have a contractual free look period like life insurance but they would never think of causing a hardship in consumer sales like that.

Oh Ok....I thought is was curious that it doesnt specifically ask about HIV, but the other carriers do!

ARC and HIV+ are not the same thing. How it's been explained to me is that you can be HIV+ and be asymptomatic and then generally when you become symptomatic they would say someone has ARC.

I'm not saying that is how Monumental looks at it, you'd have to ask them.
