Last year, Amerigroup’s (Anthem) Star rating dropped from 4.0 to 3.0 in 1 year and received another 3.0 last week. . As a result, it has offered a crappy high out-of-pocket 2021 ANOC offering. The only problem (For agents) is that it has also rolled out “new and improved” plans that existing members must re-enroll into to take advantage of those benefits. Amerigroup is making non-stop robocalls to members to invite them to attend Town Halls to hear about the new plans. If the member answers the call, it generates a “request” for their FMO “Medicare Health Benefits” to contact the member with the information in a personalized scheduled conference call. It is pissing the agents off by creating loads of extra work and possibly undermining the agent’s effort where a competing 2021 MAPD was sold by Agent instead of the 2021 Amerigroup stinking ship.
Agents were verbally told that Agent of Record status would be maintained for the writing agent when the mb would be enrolled into the new and improved plan, but nothing in writing like most other carriers have done in the past.
I understand that they’re trying to save their customer base (and overrides), but it’s just wrong on so many levels.
