Rate is a poor reason to choose a company to work with and most clients are more interested in a solution to their problem.
I had the same dilemma... You should check out the "retirement thing tank" website. They have a blog: "Best Annuity FMOs / IMOs."
They posted the top 10 FMO (according to them) based on their contracts and how happy their advisors have been etc.
I know I am a little late to the conversation, but it may help somebody else.

It's nearly 5 years old. I'm sure a lot has changed since then. That's not to say the 10 they have listed aren't good, but I'd personally want to see something more up to date.
5 years old! I didn't pay attention to that. Well, I haven't sign in with any of them yet. I am just having some conversations with a few FMOs.
By the grace of God, I have been very successful with life insurance, and would love to join a reputable FMO in order to sell annuities. My clients are all over the US, so I do most of my business online through web meetings etc.
I am tired of the FMOs trying to "recruit" me by telling me how well they pay in commissions, bonuses etc. I want an FMO that will always do the best for my clients no matter what - even if that means paying fewer commissions. An FMO that is not trying to sell for commissions, but because is the BEST thing for a client.
You would think that should be easy to find....
