Did they have cheap rates by chance? Wonder why there have been a few FE carriers to exit the industry in the last year.

Everyone is cheaper than SL. But no, SSL was not well priced. You can keep wishing for the downfall of others to prop up your junk but it ain't happening. If you are so worried about price then why don't you go elsewhere and sell a competitive company.

Pretty simple. Too low of rates & not strict enough underwriting causing mortality & expense pressures. Or, too high of rates & no sales to cover all the operational expenses

Or maybe they are just mismanaged?

The email I got from SSL this morning says they are still in business and it's all just a big misunderstanding.


So, business as usual. Which really means nothing since they aren't a player anyway.
