I stumbled across this site and really appreciate all the great post.
I have a question for all of you guru's...I have been approached by an Farm Bureau agency in West Texas to become an agent for them. I have a really good job right now and had not even thought of changing, but I travel approx 1000 miles per week now (regional salesperson) and I am ready to be home with my family, and be more involved in community and church.
I have very limited knowledge on insurance, but am entertaining the idea of talking with them.

- Does anyone have info on what kind of income to expect (I know this depends on me) I am guessing it is pretty low the first few years and then grows over the years.
- Do they give you a book of business?
- Do they provide leads, or expect you to go out and find the leads?
- What is a typical work day like; working phone in office, out in the field prospecting...
- What kind of training do they offer/support
- Anything else you would like to add is much appreciated
