Could be hearing from one of several federal judges

One could issue an injunction. This may immediately cause the MLR junk to cease & desist, who knows? *shrug*

Another one, or two, could issue a preliminary ruling declaring the law unconstitutional.

Just for grins, I'd like to see one of the courts say yep, it's clearly unconstitutional while another one comes out and says yep, it's clearly constitutional.

Probably won't happen but we can hope!

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Mass. has been sued over the same premise: That they can't force their citizens to buy insurance or be subject to a fine. Mass. has won every case.

Everything else is left to the states. The feds cannot compel citizens to buy anything. It's different with states.

Rick I fully agree. It's beyond absurd that the federal government thinks it has the power to force me to buy insurance through a private carrier.

It's as absurd as trying to tackle the obesity issue by forcing me to buy a gym membership or I'm subject to a fine.

And then tell all the gyms (private companies) that they are mandated to operate on a narrow profit margin dictated by the government. And it's up to the non-elected government appointee to determine how the number is calculated. FYI: she thinks gym owners are greedy and should be non-profits.

oops - I meant to say in original post that I think it would be funny if one court says UNconstitutional and another says CONstitutional - have since fixed that little bug.

speaking of absurd, not only are they saying they have the power to make you buy insurance from a private company, they are actually arguing in court that when you comply and do buy insurance from a private company, it is a TAX you are effectively paying

if any federal court actually buys that argument, we're all screwed

all as in all Americans because we will then be at the mercy of the Congress to force us to do anything they damn well please

I suspect that naming Wednesday as "worship Pelosi" day would be one of the first things they would do........
