Any FE Carrier Insure Nursing H Patients?

I had a client a couple months ago looking to put her son on a policy who was in prison. Does MoO and Vantis take on clients that have a Power of Attorney?

I don't know. I don't write either of them. MoO has to come direct from MoO so I send GI people to MoO. Recently I've started sending them to Newby so that he could write Vantis.

Brad or newby could tell you about Vantis. For MoO give them a call.

I used to have a company that would write inmates and I believe with POA. Congress, I think. I doubt you can do it with a POA now. Maybe a preneed. I do not know if an inmate can sign docs, if so you could mail the app.

Maybe give away a soap on a rope with every sale.:err:

Vantis does for sure as it's true GI. Not sure about MOO but I don't see why they wouldn't. With regards to someone else asking about POA on Vantis, that's a no-go, insured must be able to sign the application.

Situations like this are great for Preneed. The mother can take out the policy. The son in prison doesn't need to sign or even know about it. Mom can be the owner, payer and can pay it off over any time frame she wants up to 10-years.

FE Agents should buddy up with a good Preneed agent for these situations. There is a lot of referral opportunities between Preneed and FE agents.

Is there a preneed company FE agents can use and not be tied to a funeral home? NGL?

NGL, ForeThought, Unity

They have all sold multi-pay plans at times but they pull them off the market at other times.

The problem is if agents sell the product (multi-pay) preneed they only use it for terminally ill cases. When sold through the funeral home it is mainly healthy people who are simply planning ahead. With single pay plans, that's not a big issue.

If you have forethought FE can you write their preneed? (yeah, I know, I should just call the company)

Thanks,

Depends. ForeThought has several Preneed products. Encore is their product that has to be sold through funeral homes. Select is their Preneed-style product that has been out for around 10- years that is sold by independent agents. TrustGuard is their newest Preneed style product that is available to agents. It is being revamped already and will likely be single pay only. (Select has multi-pay options.) Freedom is their FE product and is not a Preneed style product.
