Ok so today a client who has part B but not A that i had instructed to go in to local SS to sign up for medicare part A said she was told at the office today that as of last week they no longer accept walk ins for simple medicare enrollments.They made a an appointment for next month even though she wants her medicare dsnp plan to start 2/1- This person is not able to create an ID Me account and besides last time i tried to help someone on ssa.gov enroll in part A it could not be done
in case you don't know when someone who doesn't have 40 quarters is on SSDI and medicaid T65 they will get auto enrolled in part B but not part A..last one i had like this went walked in to local SS office and applied for part A the next day and it was instantly active.
I will do a paper application for part A so her DSNP can start 2/1 otherwise since she already has full medicaid and LIS approved they will auto enroll her in a PDP plan for 2/1 and i will lose the full true up commission.This why having a fax machine is still useful.
