Appt Setting Third Party Script!!

I've heard both sides of the issue here...call yourself vs. having an appointment setter. I see that both are pretty valid, but I do believe there are a few things that an appointment setter can give you that you can't do on your own...maybe I'm wrong, but,

1. I've found "women" are much better at booking appointments
2. An appointment setter can add a sense of professionalism to what you do....kind of like having a 1-800 number or a "secretary"

So the $64,000 question is...............DO YOU HAVE ANY GOOD SCRIPTS YOU ARE WILLING TO SHARE?

Absolutely.

Hello Mr./Mrs. my name is _____ , I'm sorry to disturb you, I'm with______ , I just wanted to give you a call to see if you are interested in having us send you a life/burial insurance information package.

More important than the script is taking the time to hire a TALENTED and honest phone person. If you can deal with a phone person than you can get leads/ appointments and set your own price. Or you can pay a lead company $20-$30 and let them deal with them.
Here is what I have learned:

An appointment setter should:

1. Be a lady at home with nothing better to do during the day.

2. Have/use email.

3. LOVE talking on the phone, when she calls for an interview you should be begging to get off of the phone!

4. Have a bank account (arranging cash payments is a pain in the A**)

An appointment setter should not be:

1. A friend.

2. A family member.

3. A felon

4. Any combination of the 3.

Personally I would say that an agent should set the appointments themselves.

I've known agents that did hire it out and then went back to doing their own.

I've never used an appointment setter for my own leads but I have used preset appointments that I puchased from several different organizations. I even did very well with one.

Still, they were never as good as the ones I set myself and made the contact with myself. It's a well practiced art and you learn constantly about what works and doesn't work.

The best advice I ever got was "the more you tell, the less you sell". Well, that was the second best. the best was that I had to be in control of my schedule. If I was calling for tomorrow, don't let them talk you into another day. You have to be able to say "No" to the prospect. That sounds anti to what you are trying to do and it was the hardest thing for me to learn and put into action, but it was the best advice I ever got.

I find it interesting that more than a couple of times, I've been asked after I set the appointment, whether it was ME coming out, or someone else, and whether it would be JUST me, or someone with me.....

As much of a pain in the behind as it is to sit and make calls and set appointments on my own, I think people appreciate it when you set the appointment and you show up. I'm not sure how I'd feel about being called for someone to come out and open the door to find a complete stranger at my doorstep. I suppose if you were a woman and had a woman setting the appointments, or a man and had a man setting the appointments, it wouldn't be so obvious, and maybe not even noticeable to most...but still....

And, as an agent, I personally like talking to the people I'm seeing first, it gives me an idea about what I'm walking into. Notes on a card wouldn't really help me. But, that's just me.

If you've just started with EFES there is no way in hell you're only paying $20 per lead, or else they are full of liars in the office.

That is simply not the case. I know for sure that one manager at EFES starts agents at 90% contracts and $20 leads.

It depends on which manager you start with at EFES what your initial costs are. There are some managers within the EFES system that I would never work for or recommend.

I know a number of Appt Setters that are excellent. you will pay about $15/set appt. They are not willing to go lower than that and incentives just are not working for them. They have no idea how good you are at it and would prefer a consistent payout.

A good Appt setter will require a prepayment of 20 leads. Too many have been screwed from this forum and not paid after setting appointments. I require all prepayments for my agents to ensure payment to appt. setters.

However, I am not a big believer in using one. It only adds to your cost, and I get good telemarketer leads on avg of $12-14 per lead and prefer to set my appointments. Most of my GA's set their appointments from our Live telemarketer leads (US based) and get a 8-10x ROI that way. with appointment setters, you just don't get all the leads converted to appointments you can get as an experienced agent.

Hey Twighlight, are these recorded leads? If so, I'd be interested in hearing one and then possibly using them.
