Policies purchased after March 23, 2010 are considered “non-grandfathered.”
As a non-grandfathered member you have one of two plan types, a trust-product plan or an interim non-grandfathered (NGF) plan. The date that you purchased your policy determines your plan type.
Trust-Product Plans
If you purchased your insurance with an effective date between October 1, 2010, and December 15, 2013, you are part of the trust-product group.
WHAT:
What do you need to do? Fortunately, as part of the trust-product group, you do not have to make any changes to your plan at this time.
WHEN:
When will you need to make a change? You are able to keep your current plan until September 1, 2014. After this date, you will have to choose a new plan — one that follows the ACA guidelines.
