Auto Damage Appraiser

I'm kind of in job limbo right now, and while I'm searching around for stuff that is a direct fit for my skillset, I'm also exploring other ideas as far as career paths go that I haven't necessarily considered before. One job that keeps popping up on my radar is an Auto Damage Appraiser. The reason this is interesting to me is because:

1. I like the idea of not being at a desk 100% of the day.
2. I have a 4 year degree in business, so I don't this is too far fetched to think that I would have the basic education to consider it.
3. I already have a very good knowledge of autos because of various hobbies and family members in the industry so I don't think the learning curve would be too huge in that aspect.
4. It seems like steady work.

So my questions are:
1. Where do I start? I know you have to be licensed, but will companies hire someone while they are obtaining a license?
2. What is the best way to get the license?
3. I hate bringing this up, but can I actually make a living doing this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
