Best Captive Agency in Austin

Hello all. I received my health and life license a couple months ago and (mistakenly) chose to go in with Aflac. I obviously should have done more research here before doing so, but it was a learning experience. I am looking for a good captive agency to get started with. I even may resist the "independent" bug and stick with them for 20 years or more if I love it. Who would you recommend I throw my hat in with here in the Austin area? I am reading good things here about NYLife and Metlife. I also like the looks of Prudential. Mutual of Omaha looks nice but I am unsure if they have a presence here in Austin. I plan on interview over the next few weeks. Any others I should really think about?

I appreciate any advice. I really look forward to a long and happy career in insurance.

All of the companies you mentioned are worth considering. To that list I would add Mass Mutual, Guardian, and Northwestern Mutual.

HI. I know you are looking at a captive agency but I would advise you to sit down with us and see what we have to offer. We are an independent agency in Austin. ANd we just started doing group/worksite and we have a great marketing system. We also do individual life and health. We have in-house telemarketers and about 4 agents. Opening an office in San Antonio and HOuston in the next 60 days.

Our business model is so simple and EFFECTIVE. We have done all the homework to find the TOP contracts and you will not be a slave to us. We'll start you out with some leads and set you up for success.

In My opinion all of the carriers mentioned above aren't the best in an category. METLIFE and NY LIFE are not the most competitively priced on LIFE insurance. Mutual of OMaha is kinda ok with med supps but you won't get many leads with those guys and it SUCKS to have to sell one product. WE can sell anything and we can cross sell.
