Best P@C Niche Market

Re: Best P@C Nitch Market

Keep in mind that niche markets are usually pretty high risk operations...(= big claims) and P&C companies that appoint agents to write these kinds of risks don't just let any agent have binding authority. You will have earn it, especially an agent new to property/casualty lines.

I fully agree that P&C Niches do require extra knowledge in a particular subject to a degree... You can market to shops and Dealers for garage stuff all you want too. But keep in mind the agent who knows his way around a shop already is going to walk in before you or after you. Did his niche find him? Probably more like: Who he knows and what he knows.

Don't over think it. Find a SIC code where your markets are very competitive and there is enough volume in terms of premium and number of prospects in your marketing footprint. Then hit the phones and get going.

The answer depends on:

- Where you are
- What carriers you have access to
- What you have a passion to sell
- Who you know

For instance, if you are a private pilot, and belong to the local pilots club, you might do well selling airplane insurance.

If you are an avid bowler, you might do well focusing on bowling alleys.

If you are a motorcycle enthusiast and belong to the local clubs, you could sell custom motorcycle insurance.

If you are a drunk and have a few DUI's, maybe you can focus on nonstandard auto insurance (okay, the DUI's are not a requirement for this :) )

Niche marketing is an awesome way to go, but, its up to you to find it based on what you are comfortable with.

LOL :) hilarious. Liquor Transportation Coverage ahahaha

But in all seriousness I would look at the state you work in. CA - High risk WC!!! Maybe Trucking - Maritime - as AZInsuranceGuy said this requires a higher skill set.
