Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and I hope to find some answers regarding in here. I have a brand new Infiniti M56 car which is a gift from my brother. Now I want to have a CTP insurance. Do you know of an efficient insurance company that will provide me this insurance?

Thank you!

Jeez, I have a headache now…it's the weekend and I just had to spend time learning something new!!! =)

CTP provides what we would call Bodily Injury Liability coverage with no maximum limitation, right?

It sounds like the Aussie version of 'bare bones' basic liability coverage.

To the OP with the new Infiniti M56, you truly need a lot more coverage than just basic liability. For starters, in the U.S. you are legally required to carry Property Damage Liability to repair or replace any vehicles you damage.

You also need (and some states require) Uninsured and/or Underinsured Motorist Coverage to protect you from the millions of people driving with no insurance! On average, more than 16% of drivers in the U.S. are not insured! The worst offender is the state of Mississippi with 28% of drivers lacking insurance coverage!!! Even though I am a True Southerner, somehow I have managed to avoid the state of Mississippi for all of my 38 years! Now I have a good excuse, as if there weren't plenty of other reasons already….but now it's even worse than before!

You also need to cover that $65k Infiniti in case of an accident or other damage that is out of your control! If you aren't concerned about paying out a few thousand dollars for damage, go with very high deductibles and it will make this coverage much cheaper! You could do a $1000 Comprehensive and $2500 Collision Deductible, or something to that effect, depending on the carrier.

If you are looking for bare bones on a car like that I would highly recommend against it. But if there is no changing your mind try the general. I have heard they are competitive in CA. Good luck.
