Carrier Incentive Trips

Personally, I've never written a carrier for their trip.

But the trips are nice when you earn them.

2024 is the first year of my career that I did not earn a trip. Also the first year of my career that I didn't have a goto company.

Just pick a company and write that company. Trips are very hard to earn.

Very, very few FE agents earn company trips.

Would I rather have a bonus than a trip? Depends on the company, the trip and whether they 1099 the trip or not.

If they 1099 the trip then give me money instead every time.

Not all company trips are equal. Some are far better.

I've been on a few and they're nice. But I couldn't care less about beach or tropical resorts, which is where all the ones I've been on were. I just go to see my co-workers and because Mrs. Lee likes them. I'd much rather pay my own way and make my own itinerary if I'm not going to be writing business for that time.

I noticed several carrier trips are worded " The top 10 agents who do over $90K" . Same with mga,s and imo's . There protecting themselves from to many making it . I used to love the trips and plaques . Now i don't care . I measure success in the 100's of cards, texts and emails of appreciation for how i helped them and the all important DEPOSITS .

Yeah, after KSKJ's implosion, their plaques are going to be pistol targets the next time I get to shoot in the desert.
I hate to say it but i preached on this for a few yrs how what they were doing was going to blow up. There's no magic . Every company starts with a $. It"s impossible to have some of the most agressive underwriting in the industry with prices 20% less than the middle of the road carriers. 100% death claims hit them hard on a product were premium was far to low for the risks they took .

Lots of companies blow up. KSKJ wasn't the first, won't be the last. We all know the game. But how they're going about it is downright insulting. The others than have imploded in the time I've been in the business haven't moved mountains to fook their agents over after heaping praise upon them. I don't know who's next, but I'm not writing overpriced carriers, knowing I'll get replaced all the time, but also knowing they won't try to rescind my book when they implode. I can't predict the future and have to work with what I have.

Yeah those claims that you said would do them in after 3 years took 10 years.

Yet they are still in business?

You can't pat yourself on the back for something that didn't happen.

It's early in the game Jd . They got massive future claims exposure with incontestable policy's 2-7 yrs old . The claims will grow and grow .But now they're in trouble as not much if any new premium coming in. Also Kskj is only rescinding termed agents policy's (fex agents). Something sounded the alarm bell at Kskj
