I have a guy who is 78 with COPD not on oxygen but he also take carvedilol he says for HBP he say he doesnot have CHF. Will monumental take him on a standard rate has anyone else ran into this?
If its Carvedilol by itself then he should be fine.... just document it on the Supp Health sheet that monumental provides. Monumental does do a nice job of "underwriting" on case by case situations, considering its an FE product.
When its truly for CHF, Carvedilol will be in combination with something else. The mg. will be an indicator to the insurance company as well.
This comes straight from medicinenet.com
"Carvedilol is used by itself or with a diuretic ("water-pill") to control high blood pressure. Carvedilol also may be used in combination with other drugs to manage mild or moderate congestive heart failure.
For high blood pressure, the dose may range from 6.25mg twice daily to a maximum of 25mg twice daily. For congestive heart failure, the dose may range from 3.25mg twice daily to a maximum of 25mg twice daily in persons weighing less than 85kg (187 pounds) or 50mg twice daily in persons weighing more than 85kg (187 pounds).
