People don't realize how much information they share. Ever get a "survey" in the mail that seems rather generic. Ever answer questions on the phone in a survey or "market research"?.

Then you have started compiling your own personal data base. Axiom and others are very good at using various methods to get bits and pieces to just about paint a complete picture of you.

Next time you get a survey in the mail or on the phone. Use totally false information. Say you make half or twice as much as you really do. That you invest in blah blah blah. That you have very poor health... name a disease.

Toward the end of the phone call ask, "How do you have my name spelled?"

Then instruct them that that is wrong and alter the spelling.

I switched from Gordon to Golden and Gorden.


Then sit back and watch the various marketing efforts you start getting under that name targeted to the specifics you gave in the survey... income, health, life style.

I found out there were over 17000 diabetics in my county alone.

Good idea. They have an interesting selection of lists, including new baby households and families with young children. Not too expensive at 20 cents a name.

$0.20/name is highway robbery. I paid $0.25/name for a list of dual eligibles and the list was would have been way more accurate if I had just gotten a list of incomes < $15k. Usually custom data like that is bogus.

3400 bucks for just a list of 17000 names? What a joke......

Someone should buy the list and keep us posted on its accuracy. That would be a great list if it is accurate.
