Celti Insurance Not Accepting Any New Application Supposedly Website Will Be Back Up Oct 1

Insurance company no longer accepting applications

I'm aware of Celtic being only in one State Exchange.. Arkansas. If their new line-up of off-exchange Qualified Health Plans are priced low enough, Celtic might continue to stay in business. Their parent company, Centene Corp., has a lot of cash reserves and apparently has not abandoned Celtic, like some thought it might.

What CELTIC's doing is one reason why I started the 2013 to 2014 Individual Plan Transition thread. Among other things, it's good to know which companies will be cutting off sales before October 1st, to simplify their internal switchover to the radically new 2014 products. Thank-you CharlieBob for sharing this information regarding Celtic. My clients used to love the company before they started the annual 50% rate increases in 2009.

Celtic has morphed many times over the years, moving into niche markets. No doubt they will survive in some form or another.

When I got into the stop loss business 25 years ago we used their conversion plans with self funded groups.
