Client Data Base

I just finished moving and moved a ton on files. The first thing that crossed my mind was that I put these files away and never look at them again. Which means I'm missing out on a lot of potential business and I need to get this organized so I don't continue to miss out on it anymore. What Data Base programs are you using to stay in touch with clients?

The second thing that crossed my mind is that these files take up a lot of space. Once you have their information in the data base do you keep originals?

Thanks for your help

I have been using ACT for about 6 years which is affordable and can be modified. I especially appreciate ACT when it is time to massage my caseload for something like an MAPD which is leaving a community. I have the database set up as multiple companies so each group is basically a company. I can also scan SCOPE of Appointment document attachments and make notes to the client account. I also print out the client sheet to run follow up appointments (zip code ID is also a report I sometimes run during AEP). I have identified many opportunities for new sales plus the clients get a personalized experience. As for paper applications I have not had the courage to destroy them because I have had to use them upon occasion when the internet was down or I had a minor problem with ACT.
