Anyone heard when we are going to have to complete the certification for under 65? BC still says this month, but it is the middle of the month and I am doubtful.

This brief article from Washington D.C. indicates that the state Exchange will pay a 3rd party to "certify" agents. The DC exchange is paying the National Association of Health Underwriters to train any agent or broker who wants it. There is no fee to attend.

How many certifications are there? I thought only the CMS certification mattered. Maybe D.C. is a different animal in this regard too?

Thank you. I am in a state that has to use fed exchange.

Blue Diamond, I suggest that you go to the forum Control Panel and update your user profile. It would be nice to look at your avatar panel and be able to see what state you're in. Thanks in advance.

Nope, BD is one of the smart ones, ain't gonna do it... wouldn't be prudent.

Does this mean that the NAHU training is now officially recognized and certifies you for selling on the exchanges/marketplaces/whatever they're called this week?

They were advertising classes in my area not too long ago, and they were careful to mention that it didn't result in a license. It wasn't free either...

$495, "*The PPACA certification course is a certification of expertise in the provisions and implementation of health reform. It does not meet state or federal requirements that may be necessary or required to sell exchange-based plans."

My profile says Florida. But your's doesn't say Ill, there could be a Chicago, Ms, who knows. I am originally 200 miles east of you.

We were told the cert was going to be directly with CMS since we were FFE state and it would be this month, although I am beginning to wonder if it won't be put off until August or September.
