The Coffee news reports the following tidbit:

Happy no more: A lot of Brits may not be as happy during happy hour if government health officials get their way. The country is looking at wether to ban Happy Hour, the time when pubs and restaurants lower their prices on alcoholic beverages. The aim is to curb binge drinking and lower the rate of liver disease among young drinkers. "There has been a steep increase in the number of deaths of young people from liver disease, and that indicates a serious problem, " says Imogen Shillito, a spokeswoman for the British Liver Trust, the agency studying the issue.

My question is what about individual responsibilty...since somepeople are biinge drinking they need to poke the government into the restaraunt and pub businesses....Interesting way for the government health system to interfere with private enterprise.
