What does your contract with each company say?

Is that the same as a sole proprietor?

Part of the answer is as Vol said look at your contract. Mostly if you are vested yes. However, how much will be there after other agents and or the IMO raid your book is a totally different issue.

I have several books that widows assigned to me after the death of their husbands. It became almost a full time job defending replacements. I am talking life books.

Don't worry. You have to have commissions before this becomes a problem. See if SAI will explain it to you.
