I was just checking this link and saw that CSA designation (once hotly controversial 10 years ago around alleged improper annuity sales) is now approved for use INDEFINITELY!

Looks like that happened about 6 months ago.

The CSA is also one of the few accredited designations listed with FINRA:

WHAT??? I am sorry but that is insane. The test is a open book test that takes a few minutes to complete. CSA designation is viewed as legitimate at the same time the CFP designation is being challenged by states. What is the industry coming to? Not to say anything is wrong with a individual that has the designation my issue is more with the ease of getting the designation.

Ask ANSI or NCCA about that:
Become a Certified Senior Advisor - Society of Certified Senior Advisors

Perhaps they have updated their standards since you last looked at their program.

CSA designation is viewed as legitimate at the same time the CFP designation is being challenged by states.

Btw, the CFP designation isn't being challenged by the states. The CFP Board doesn't want the states to regulate "financial planning" (whatever that means).
