Dental Insurance

Ok heres the deal. I need some dental work done and have no insurance (only basic health coverage through my job). Anyway, So I was told there are good dental plans out there pretty reasonable. I need one that has 100% coverage on cleaning. 80+ on fillings and 50+ on crowns. And I dont want to have to pay a deductible every time i go to the dentist.

Thats pretty much what Im looking for, but since ive never had dental coverage, I dont really know where to look. Oh, and I want to keep my current dentist. He's reasonably priced and HONEST (something I thought dentists were incapable of being). I've been to 5 different ones in the last couple months for quotes. He's the only one ive met that I actually trust. Dont want some damn HMO plan that sends me to some random quack who charges me for crap I dont need.

Ask your dentist which network he is in and which carriers of insurance he takes. That's a start.

Sounds like Assurant has what you're looking for.

Have u looked at Carington discount plans? Can't beat $12 bucks or so per month for the whole family and saving of 20%-60%. Especially since most dental plans I have seen have some sort of deductible and even then only covers $1-2k per year. Just a thought. Just google Carington dental to learn more.

Nearly any plan is going to have waiting periods and a deductible for the work you need done. The only exceptions I know of are Humana's HI215 plan (which is an HMO, but a great product for $14.99) or a dental discount plan. Id check with Humana, maybe you will get lucky and you dr will take it. There are a ton of plans out there, the hard part can be finding what the dentist will accept and one that is not a rip off, which many are.

What you describe doesn't exist.

I tell all my clients the best Dental Plan in the world is to take $40 a month and put in a piggy bank every month. If a family member needs Dental work call around and find the best cash price Dentist.

I got an email from Humana anybody that bought a health plan and a dental plan on the exchange...if they cancel the dental plan it cancels the health plan. Blue is also jacked up in this regard too. I did two dental plans w/ health and it was a mess...never again.
