It's funny how careful you have to be in this process. I knew that I wanted a referral, but also knew that the specialist(endodontist), that I was going to use for the referral, would be leery of why I would want to change my current dentist.
Figured it was going to be like a job interview, so, when he asked why I wanted a new dentist, I explained that while the office was fantastic, unfortunately I had gone through two dentists there, that left along with the hygienists. I saw his face change, and he happily referred me to his personal dentist.
These people are so protective over each other's reputations. It's so hard just to "show up" some place, if you've been with another dentist for a long time.
