Do You Do It on Fridays?

I don't cold call...I work leads that I buy. Buying leads eliminates the time WASTED trying to find someone interested. Let the leads do the prospecting (cold calling) for you so your time is spent writing apps. And anyday is a good day to write business.

I haven't cold called in years, but depending on your market . . .

But consider this.

Most folks are not thinking about buying insurance on Friday, they are planning their weekend, watching the clock at work for quitting time, thinking about date night . . .

If you are a contrarian you can argue that is what makes it the perfect time. No one is calling about insurance on Friday because they are thinking about the weekend, watching the clock . . .

If you are calling on businesses, in person or by phone, Saturday AM has traditionally been good. Mid afternoon weekdays is another.

Calling families, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday PM work.

Assuming you weren't just bored and actually wanted an answer.

Are people at work on Fridays?
Do many get paid on Fridays?
Is there a need for your product and services on Fridays?
Do you want to work on Fridays?

Just sell baby!

Fridays are a great day to sell. People have paychecks and don't have to worry about work as much. They are more happier because it is Friday.

Reminds me of my old debit days. We used to make it a race every Friday to beat Aarons, Rent A Center, etc. to the customer's homes to collect premiums. Also, many a customer bought FE when the breadwinner got home from work on Friday night.

There is never a good time to call, so pick up the phone now. No one is ever expecting your call, so they will always be doing or thinking about something else. If more people are gone on Friday and you don't reach as many people, you're still further ahead then if you didn't pick up the phone. If it's not a good time, they can always ask you to call back.

I use to worry about when would be a good time to catch people at the "right" time when they would be less stressed and more of them would be around. Now I realize that I can pick up the phone anytime I want, it's no big deal. Last year I made a lot of calls during December up to two days before Christmas when most in our business are sipping hot chocolate since they believe the last thing prospects want to talk about is insurance. I didn't have a lot of production in December, but January was an awesome month for me due to all the leads I developed in December who wanted to meet with me after the holiday season.

Bottom line: don't overthink this business, spend your time talking to people.

I only sell Med Supps. Fridays have always been the most difficult day of the week to prospect for and sell Med Supps.

I try to get all of my "paper work" done on Friday morning and "play" Friday afternoons.
