UNITED FIRE GROUP... unlike its competators their underwriting rates these full sized peterbilts and kenworths on a business auto form/rate... This usually equates to having a base rate 15% less than their competators who associate this class with truckers forms/rates... as an appointed agaent you can apply up to 25% on these classes and up to 40% if they ex mod it based off of losses. They require 3 years losses. Also to note they write this with the GL... NO MONO LINE AUTO but just to give you a heads up you can usually beat companies like progressive or others by about 1500- 2k and still have the GL... They are hot for this class and the roll off dumpster classes... besides any sand and gravel company operating without a GL is nuts.... if they dont have the GL make them get it. They will get more jobs because of it too

I write for UFG here in UT and its sister company FP in Cali and Nevada... honestly I would not even bother with any other company... these guys usually cant be beat on this class... price as well as coverage and service.
Back to the search for insurance for sand and gravel haulers in SW Florida. UFG is not writing any auto in FL. Any Florida agents having success with this risk?
yes I discovered that when I had a client needing $500k liability on a home and ended up having to talk to the guys over at seacoast brokers for that. Never knew FL made it so hard to carry half a mill on home owners liability.

What about Wesco ? I belive they have an office out there in FL. I know MGA's in Cali administer their Sand and Gravel and they are a close second to UFG/Financial Pacific in Cali ...
