E-Mails to New Clients

I'm trying to compose an email to send out to potential new clients along with existing clients as a reminder of what coverages I do & ask them to consider checking with me for auto/home/ & business coverages.

Does anyone have any ideas, or something that they use that will peak interest & not sound like I'm just spamming their inbox?

What about doing a monthly newsletter to these clients updating them on your current services and including helpful insurance information? That way, it won't seem like spam as much as helpful info...

Best of luck!

Let me make sure I understand....

You want to spam their inbox, but in a way that you feel isn't spam? To be honest, I'm not sure how to pull that off.

The reason I say this is simple, sometimes you have to be direct and to the point, rather than beating around the bushes.

Or....

What I have found most people are interested in is a list of upcoming community events. Okay, not everyone, but if your area has good family events, people appreciate getting a reminder of what is coming up over the next month. This also gives you a reason to email them monthly.....

Is there a way to not so much automate this monthly but get the format...for both what djs and melissa ash said...I see alot of people talking about newsletters but are there sites that get you setup? Or is it straight to Publisher/word for everyone?

Agreed, Dan. Give them something that they're interested in. Let's face it. Consumers don't care about insurance like we do.

Another good idea though is to ask for referrals, and then use that as the subject line. i.e. "Dan Johnson said I should contact you." Of course, this will limit your quantity, but will certainly improve your open and response rates.

Best of luck!

Just another thought. If you haven't read "Purple Cow," I recommend going to the book store and reading the foreword. No need to read the book if you have half a brain. But, always try and be "purple"!!!

I haven't tried it yet, but I heard it's good to put some personal information (pictures, recent vacations) and also add some articles about insurance.

What AMS are you using? If any! I would try and scrub each list as much as possible to put a personal touch into the email, something lets the customer know you know something about them.

Jeez...now that you put it that way...it sounds kinda dirty....

but your right...I guess I wanna spam but make it seem like real meat.....so I was looking for ideas just to keep my name fresh with people.

the community events idea is great...with a link back to what I do....or maybe a free oven mitt...its still spam....but people dont mind it as much

Easy...

Provide value.

I send out a weekly to bi-weekly email with something people will find of value. the whole point is, your goal should not be to sell someone something, but rather be the first person they think of when they decide they need whatever it is that you provide.

For an email marketing sales tool, I use Ace of Sales. I use it to send out newsletters, email greetings, etc. You can use it to schedule when things go out, etc. Check it out. 30 day trial, after trial, $20 a month, or $200 a year.
