E& O for Cancelled Policies

Also I am not only talking new business , but current that could be 6 months in and they either get a new card or something happens to the billing info to cause a cancellation.
The answer is still the same.. You have an obligation to service it.. Listen to video DHK posted.

I believe this below is why the OP is asking. Making some calls to some clients but not others or reminding a client 1 time means they could claim you failed to reach out in the future & they had become accustomed to you doing so. who knows if they would win the case, but likely would be settled before hand causing agent to owe a deductible & impact their claims record. on smaller claims, E&O carriers are famous for settling to avoid the long drawn out process & legal costs to defend, especially if agency process was not consistent across the board or with a specific client

Kind of goes to what I said.. Anybody can sure for anything. One lawyer might get an idea you are liable because you didn't call and another might decide you are because you did. Just keep your E&O in force and do what you think best.

If you make these calls to policyholders, I would state that this is a "courtesy call".

It's not mandated nor required that you contact people, but you can do so "as a courtesy".
