E&O for People with Multi-state Licenses

My resident License is out of California. I'm staying in New York while I finish a degree, and plan on selling Medigap and MAPDs in NY and New Jersey.

Do I need to purchase E&O in both NY and NJ, or can I buy a California E&O and use it in NY and NJ?

(Previously, my sales were done as a W-2 employee with a NY FMO and a 50-state online broker so I never had to purchase E&O since the companies did it.)

Most policies will show the territory being covered as the U.S., and territories. You should be fine, but you will want to let the carrier know what states you will be providing services in.
