EasyContact.com - Thoughts?

Hey boys and girls!

Have any of you guys ever used the email service from EasyContact.com, either for marketing or keeping in touch with existing clients? I have a large database of aged "B" shared leads I want to reach out to, and I don't want to mail merge these guys because I'm trying to be sneaky and get around the ones that stuck me in their spam filter the first time I emailed them. Yes, yes, I'm a horrible person, I know. I also want to use this as a newsletter service for my existing base, if that atones for my sin at all.

So, has anyone ever used EasyContact before? Have you been happy with the service? What about the delivery and open rate?

Hmm, this was popular.

If anyone else out there was angling to give it a shot - don't. There's two hours of my life I'll never get back. I wasn't a big fan at all.
 
Curious - what problem did you run into? Was it with this service or email marketing as a whole?
 
Three massive problems:

1. You can only import 1500 names at a time. Yuck.

2. No option to send plain-text emails. You have to send your message on some over-artsy template that delivers the entire message as an image.

3. I sent test messages to all of my accounts, and all of them triggered my spam filters. On the one hand, I'm glad my spam filters are so astute. On the other...
