Encompass And Getting Appointed In WA

On Encompass website it says they are looking for agencies with a min. of $500,000 of written premium and min. 5 years experience.

Curious what folks have to say about them. We're looking at a few new carriers.. Encompass, Kemper, Allied and Secura.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I have a friend that works at an agency and has Secura and he likes them in certain cases. Allied seems to be fairly competitive in Home and Auto. As far as commercial goes with them they are OK.

Allstate owns Encompass and Nationwide owns Allied it's their independent side.

before you start randomly adding companies, you better make sure they are competitive for you.....

If you belong to a cluster, you should have easy access to who ever you need/want

Not in a cluster and proceeding VERY cautiously... Currently have the "standard or preferred" market pretty well set with Safeco, Hartford, Met & Travelers. Looking for the carrier that will be strong in the market just a notch below and be able to offer renters/home/auto.

I would look at non-name carriers then, policy specific...
such as I have Infinity, they only do auto and kick ass, the have a sub-standard tier and a standard tier and a preferred tier, they do commercial auto and have the BEST classic car program....
Then try ASI, American Strategic Insurance, home only, renters, landlords....

ASI does have a co-op thinggie with Progressive now in some states.

I've been trying to add companies that other independents are using in my area, I've quoted Encompass before when I used to work for an indy agency. I was just wondering how their appointment process is... . I have a meeting with the rep from Unitrin on Wednesday so wish me luck lol. I've been having so much trouble getting in touch with the company rep from a non-standard (a company which I really would love to have) I turned in my application for appointment since October. So far I've left him voicemail after voicemail, email, you name it and I've only gotten a couple of calls in response telling me to email him my info again. Apparently he came to my town last week and went to the wrong address and just left. Didn't call before he came or when he was here. Any advice on this situation.
