I really apprecate all of the thoughts here on final expense. I looked at Securus and Equita. I am in the process of hooking up with Equita . I have been accepted by two carriers with them. I then signed up for the leads at $21:00 per lead because I order the 15 per week for 3 weeks... thinking as long as I order this way the leads will cost me $21:00.only to find out this is only a one time thing for this 3 weeks. The leads will really cost me in the nieghbor hood of $25:00 untill I reach a certian production level which turns out to be a very confluted maze of algerbra. I alos am not sure how they do the commission structure. All in all I have been some what impressed but there always seems to be a vagness about the procedure. Any of you Equita people can clear up things for me so I know I made the right choice?

I am sure JD or another EFES agent will be by to explain how. The lead program works and pretty much any other question you have.

I would not contract with any other carriers through them before making sure you are comfortable with the EFES method for a very long time.

Your leads will be a set price til u have taken 80 leads, then u take your total annual AP X's 80%/# of leads = PPL which determines your price.

The leads can be anywhere from as low as $13/lead to as much as $30/lead once u reach 80 leads. It'll change weekly.... I got as low as $16 once, but usually avg about $20-22.

Who is your regional manager. If they can't explain this to you in great detail, then fire them. I would do it, but it is more convoluted than I have time to type out. Their website should also have an explanation of their ppl or premium per lead.

I don't time right now to try and explain it but I will try later. It's not as complicated as it seems at first. Your upline should have gone over this in detail.

OK, back in front of a computer now.

You pay for leads at EFES whatever you negotiate with whomever recruited you. Same for your starting contract level.

You work your commission level up with production. The lead price you pay will be what you negotiated for your first 3 months with 80 leads taken. Once you have a 90 day period with 80 leads taken then your lead costs will be based on the PPL, {Production Per Lead}. For example, if you PPL is between $140 and $159 then you will pay $17 for leads you got that week. The PPL is a rolling 90 days so it will change every week.

The best you can do is have your PPL over $200 and you will pay $13 per lead. The worst you can do is have your PPL lower than $79 and then you would pay $28 per lead. But, if your PPL is below $79 over a 90 day period you have bigger issues than what you will pay per lead.

The PPL is all of your retail business X 80% divided by the number of leads. Your wholesale business does not count for PPL. Direct monthly bill does not count towards your PPL. Quarterly pay only counts 25%. The GI stuff doesn't get full credit. I'm not sure what they do on that since I don't write any GI stuff.

I disagree with quite a few things about the PPL guidelines but you didn't ask about anyone agreeing, you just asked how it works. This is how it works.

Again, whomever recruited you should have gone over this in detail.

Does EFES not require you to contract with all carriers they have?
If not, how do you handle a lead that doesn't qualify with one of the carriers that you're contracted with through them? Can you place that business outside EFES?

I'm not contracted with all of the companies they have so, no, they don't require you to be contracted with them all.

I can't imagain a case where you would have to go outside of their companies. The only time I do is when they are declined or rated with companies there. I'm writing one tomorrow that's been declined by 2 EFES companies.

I'm new to EFES and getting my contracts sent in. I went to place my initial lead order for 25 at $25 + cards and badge, $675. They told me they would not process my lead order until I moved all me FE contracts over to them. I initially moved Americo, American Continental, Occidental and Baltimore Life. They still want RNA and Foresters. I've really jumped through hoops for these guys but I'm not getting a great feeling based on their attitude.

My point is that it doesn't seem like they would allow you to just contract with two companies and then buy leads from them. Maybe my issue is that they pulled up all of my appointments and noticed I was already appointed with those other companies.

It's been about a month now trying to get releases from my other IMO's. I may end up just doing a broker contract after all this.

That must really depend on your upline within EFES. I just put in my order for DM leads today and I've ran a few teleleads and neither my upline or marketer has asked me to contract with all of the carriers that EFES has or has asked me to switch over any existing contracts.

I was the one who decided to switch over my contracts to EFES. So like I said it must depend on your upline and isn't necessarily am EFES requirement.
